A tennis laundry routine for back-to-back court days
Keep match outfits, practice layers, and small essentials ready to rotate.
Tennis can turn one day into several changes of clothing. A practice top, match outfit, warmup layer, and spare socks all deserve a place in the routine. Separating used pieces from clean backups makes the next court day much easier.
Sort the full outfit
Check the labels on shirts, shorts, skirts, dresses, built-in liners, and sports bras. A coordinated outfit does not necessarily have one shared care method. Remove loose items from pockets before washing and keep accessories with their own care requirements separate.
Protect the spare set
Put your clean backup in a distinct compartment or bag so it stays separate after a change. On the way home, sort out the pieces you never wore. Keeping clean and used clothing apart prevents unnecessary washing and makes it obvious what is ready for the next session.
Think beyond the match shirt
Warmups and practice layers also need a regular place in the wash rotation. Check towels separately and follow their own labels. Shoes, racket grips, and equipment are not part of this clothing routine; use their manufacturers’ care guidance.
Your next-session checklist
- Check pockets and built-in layers.
- Separate clean spares from worn clothing.
- Match wash settings to garment labels.
- Prepare a complete court-day set.
Build your laundry routine
Start with the care label on each item and the directions on your detergent. Athlete Fresh Performance is a complete, unscented detergent for washable training clothes. Use the labeled dose and only on compatible fabrics. Revive is an optional restore soak where the garment instructions allow soaking; it is not an automatic step for every uniform or piece of equipment.
