From the court to the laundry room: your volleyball reset

Volleyball laundry has to keep up with repeat sessions, tournament days, and the layers that travel between them. Keeping jerseys and training clothes ready is easier when each item has a clear place after practice.

Check every part of the kit

Separate the jersey, shorts, socks, and warmups. Knee pads are a separate decision: read their manufacturer’s instructions before washing, soaking, or drying them. A washable sleeve does not mean every insert, foam component, or attached part can take the same treatment.

Keep the clean set separate

A clean uniform can get mixed back into yesterday’s clothes during a quick change between matches. Use a distinct place in your bag for the next set, and move worn pieces out of it after play. This is especially useful when traveling with more than one jersey color.

Make laundry part of the tournament plan

Before leaving, list the pieces you need for each day. Check whether you will have access to laundry facilities and enough drying time. If not, plan a spare kit instead of relying on a rushed wash just before the next match.

Your next-session checklist

• Sort clothing and pads separately.
• Check each knee pad’s care directions.
• Keep alternate jersey colors organized.
• Repack only when the kit is dry.
